Philly, Theft of Services, Bullshit revisited...

So lots of people are blogging about the case of the prostitute who was gangraped at gun point and the asshole judge who tried the case and called the incident a "Theft of Services" in the city of Brotherly Love...

And yep, it makes me sick, and it makes me want to throw sharp, flaming objects at the judges head, but what it doesn't do is surprise me. What surprises me is how many people are surprised. Surprised a woman judge would pull this crap? Surprised at her whole thought process on the matter, surprised surprised surprised? Guess what? I'm not surprised in the least. Not a single raised eyebrow of shock/surprise here. Nope. Not surprised at all, except with everyone elses evident shock/awe/surprise.

You surprised people? You're the minority here. That Judge? She is by far a better indication of what the average human Americanus thinks about prostitutes. Yep, yes indeed. She and those like her are the majority. That's the dominant attitude towards whores out there. To most folk, face it, whores aren't human. They are dirty, diseased, drug addicted suhuman creatures who perform nasty, nasty sex acts for money, not for love, not for babies, not with a special someone, but for money...eww, icky, says the majority of America, and not human is what they say about the people who do it.

Think I'm being grim or wrong here? Well, sorry, no, I'm not. Watch television. Read the news. Look the hell around. In the eyes of most, whores aren't humans. So no, this judge and this case don't surprise me. Not in the least.

Yeah, be outraged, be angry, be pissed. That, that is good. But don't be surprised. And the more people outraged, well, hell, the better chance this sort of thing has of becoming something that is shocking, and that would be grand. But right now? Nah. Not shocking at all. Not one bit.

I think maybe the shock is to see the attitude expressed so openly, blatantly, and in a court of law.

But I guess that just glazes over the fact that the law is supposed to represent society, so why be surprised when it acts like this?

I've always found women (especially my wife)to be more intolerant of prostitution than men. The need for Sex without the emotion, seduction, commitment or lies is something that men intrinsically understand.

Fuck, I hadn't heard about that yet.

I really don't understand how both men and women appear to be threatened, literally threatened, by the presence of prostitutes in our midst. Meanwhile, it's the prostitute who is *really* under threat - due to attitudes exemplified in this awful news story.

I love it how the judge talked about "sleeping" with her decision at night, and was so bloody proud of having "slept well." What an entitled prat.

Well, the judge is all highly educated and stuff, and the prostitute is just a prostitute, so the judge is obviously a superior life form, and above reproach, unlike the prostitute, who, when she decided to be a prostitute, apparently gave up her membership in the human community.

Ridiculous.

As platitudes go, that's a particularly stupid one.

More reason to be outraged- NOT surprised:

A sex worker called the PA Bar Association to encourage the PBA to reject the reinstatement of Judge Deni, here's what happened:

I called him AND HE ANSWERED! When I told him I was a sex worker who
advocates the health and safety of sex workers and was looking for his
contact information to circulate among groups of sex workers and sex
worker advocates, he said: "Your a what?" and I said "sex worker"

HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!

Call him, would you ? ;)

The judge was 100% correct. When you seek to sell your ass for money don't be surprised when your ass gets used but you don't get the money. The original defendant and the original friend should have been charged for nothing more than theft of services. The two men that came after that had no arrangement to buy some ass from the whore, so they should have been charged for rape.
