I've had several reasons to dislike Amanda Marcotte since I started blogging...her treatment of WoC bloggers, her arrogance, random comments here and there, but wow, if that wasn't enough... apparently Amanda has the low down on what lurks in the hearts and minds of every woman who has implants! Amazing that, huh? How Amanda can say flat out that gals with fake tits are desperate with no self esteem and are, more or less, slated and good for only one role in the world and defined solely by those fake tits?
I just love it when a feminist judges women on their appearances and choices in bodily autonomy!
But well, of course, she was big in the indie punk scene, or something.
Here's the deal...a good sign of shit self esteem and all? A woman who has to crack on on other women, assume to know all about them, judge them lesser than herself, and tear them down in order to be hip and all, in order to make herself feel better.
Amanda's tits are REAL, y'all, she is a real natural woman and shit! How fucking cool is that? And she's, you know, way more confident and full of esteem and stuff than those girls with fake tits. ROCK. Just fucking ask her.
Sorry, I don't buy it. After hearing Amanda tell the world how cool, hot, smart, whatever hell the else she is...well, I guess I feel the leg she's standing on sounds pretty shakey...even though I have fake tits and all.

Poor Amanda. She really has sort of snapped as far as I can tell.
She has real issues with the female form anyway. Maybe it's a confidence issue. She certainly really, really has a lot of baggage about women who might have larger breasts than her.
By referring to implants as "the universally recognized symbols of desperation" we see that not only is she confused... she thinks her worldview is universal. Of course, she lives in an echo chamber, so we cant expect more.
What is interesting is that she then immediately discusses how her body makes her feel good and that she likes how her breast shape influences others.

See? it's not that you aren't supposed to take pride in how you look... you just have to look RIGHT, then you're allowed to have pride. In other words... look like her.

I finally stopped posting at Pandagon altogether. I got tired of Amanda's nasty, gratuitous insults to everyone who disagrees with her even a millimeter. Pandagon is now mostly "All Hail Amanda!" and "You rock, Amanda!" from what I can see.
And besides that, all those cute little sorority-ass nicknames make me wanna puke.

For me, whenever I look at Amanda's posts, I see a big damned book cover with a gorilla carrying a white woman, and I can't get past that. Nor her responses to people who told her it was racist.
