pondering posts on:
-People as commodities (because I am a grim sort, and think in one way or another, all people are).
-Why ask the questions if you knowingly do not want answers? (ahem, why do anti-porn types ask these questions when they will never listen to anyone who might have a theory they don't like)?
-If you can't beat 'em, join em? Nah, more like if you can't beat 'em, kick the living shit out of 'em. (ramblings on women succeding or competing in....anything....as, if you are going to look at it that way, anything and everything we have today- business, politics, education, entertainment- is a product of the patriarchy.
-Language and you might want to cover your class, it's hanging out in public again...(why I continue to detest the inaccurate term "you're selling yourself/selling your body" and other thoughts on the nature of "degrading" work).
-No one is telling you what you can and cannot do...(we all have things we support more ardently than others, and no one is telling you that you cannot support those things...)

I for one will be looking forwards to all of these.
In the meantime, I humbly offer a link to my latest post on the subjects of "people as commodities" and the term "selling your body":
Bodies for sale: sports or prostitution?
In which I conclude that pro sports fit the description far more accurately than sex work does!
I just thought I would take this opportunity to say that I love your blog.
Really really.
"-People as commodities "
SD calls himself a corporate whore for a reason.
I am a domestic whore for the same reasons- I do things, give sexual favors, etc in exchange for something else- housing, food, protection.
Everyone gives something of themselves in exchange for *whatever*- money, companionship, etc. It's how it works.
Yes, I sell myself, too. I feign interest in what boring people say, to be polite and earn my keep.
I think it's interesting that some people think their work isn't selling themselves--what else is it, if you have to do it when you truly ARE NOT in the mood?
Snowdrop: Yeah, sports is very appropriate in comparison, or so I've always thought.
rhianwren: Thanks.
RT: No kidding, right?
Daisy: Interesting...well, not the word I would use, but hey, I'm an asshole :)
