Ren, in the "good times" photo, you look like a 5'10" goddess.

I also love the slow one, with your eyes. Your eyes could melt steel and save lives in that one.

The slow eye one. Neil Gaiman's "Death" made flesh.

That was very touching.

Wow, Ren.

This is amazing.
This should be "must see" video for just darn about everyone. It also made me very angry and sad for how you've been treated.

I have been having Filmaker's Cramp -- kind of out of ideas.
But I think this just sparked the old creativity flame.

That's really powerful, Ren. I am moved to the point that I don't know what to say except "Thank You"

You are showing a talent for this sort of thing, keep it up. On a technical note is there a way to include the full screen button on the media embed? While I would love to get a better eye full, I really need it to see the smallest text. My monitor is my 37" tv and at 1080 I have to literally crawl within 3' of the screen to read the smallest text pages. More and more of us are doing this so embedding media that can be enlarged would be a good thing to know how to do.

Very powerful, Ren. That video got my eyes welling up.

I agree with commenters upthread, that the slow-eyes frame kicks ass.

I wonder if those cultfems have any idea how triggering their hateful words are to some survivors of rape.

Great video. I'm sorry for the way you've been treated. I've been feeling more and more withdrawn from the feminist blogosphere recently, because, okay, I may 'sit on the fence' but things really do seem crap sometimes.

I feel I've developed a more nuanced feminist viewpoint because the women that comment here and you yourself really make me think about things harder. I'm still anti porn and prostitution but I can see that there are women that choose to work in the sex industry.

And I appreciate how hard you've had it. At the same time, I have conflicting feelings about things, which is unavoidable given that I do care about people on both "sides" or whatever. I wish there wasn't sides, I really do.

I know I'm idealistic and you know I've tried to think in terms of 'can't we all get on'. Unfortunately, there have been vile things said and its up to certain people to sort it out, as much as it pains me to say it, there isn't a lot I can do about the situation.

I hated it when Laura was pushed out of her blog, and 'evicted' from a feminist yahoo group. I did speak up and had an argument with stormy but it didn't work. So..it's not just you that gets 'judged' as it were.

This is why I try my hardest not to make judgements because I can see how much it excludes people and ruins people's trust in each other. Which is the antithesis of how feminism is 'meant' to be, really. Radical feminist thought is interesting and still relevant but it needs to be adapted for the times we live in, to grow and develop.

I think it happens a lot, particularly with feminists that are unwilling to compromise, to accept people who may have slightly different nuanced views. Anyway, sorry about the way things have happened.

My reaction, Ren, after seeing that clip:

Two minutes of stunned silence...

Followed by two HOURS of spontaneous standing ovation.

I'll fight in your army any day, any time, anywhere. Even in the depths of Hell.

Has somebody ever told you that you kick serious ASS?? I know they do,. but probably not enough.

Keep bringing it.

I find it amazing that the feminists who have lobbed such...hate at you haven't noticed that those same words have been used against women whenever we started talking about subjects society wanted, preferred, to ignore, invalidate or ridicule. It just goes to show how friendly they have become with the very patriarchy they claim to despise.

I repeat this mantra to literally prevent myself from stroking out (as stress-related strokes occur with frightening frequency in my family): People. Are. Assholes. Three deep breaths. Then I watch some MST3K. But you're still standing, Ren. Your strength terrifies and infuriates them. Keep it up!

Ren-you kick such ass, not just for being a kick ass person and writer, but for putting up with all the shit you get from "feminists" who believe that all women are equal, but some women are more equal then others.

You rock Ren! You are you, you are authentic, you are unafraid to be you, to express yourself, to have your own form of expression. You rock!
