NaNoWriMo.
I think I'm gonna give it a go. I might not do the whole sign up and be part of the whole NaNoWriMo team woohoo party, but the whole try to crank out a book in the month of November thing? I might give it a shot. If anything, it will inspire me to actually do some damn fiction writing, which I used to love but have utterly neglected in the last...hell...year or so. Heh, I might even avoid smut and go to my stand by of supernatural action/thriller.
Anyone else doing this? If so, wanna, I dunno, cheer each other on and shit?

I might... but I don't know if I'll do original or fan fiction. I tried writing fanfic a few years ago and got distracted, but I dunno. I want to give it another try.
Though I probably won't write a novel...
Just writing would be my goal. maybe an anthology of short stories or something like that would be more up my alley.
yeah, I dunno if I will finish either, and I am real picky, which goes against the spirit of the exercise, but I figure its a good excuse to give it a go.
I think I'm going to do it. I too have been neglecting the fiction, and I tend to find specific goals and deadlines motivating when writing. I have no actual ideas, mind, but that's secondary. I never said I could write a GOOD novel in a month. :)
I mostly just lurk, but I'll totally cheer you on from the e-shadows.

I am. I'm already working on a sci-fi novel (we all need another dystopia!), so this is perfect for me. I'd love to see what you come up with!
1) Love the new header. I usually read you on the google reader, so if it has been up, apologies on my delay in noticing.
2) I am unfamiliar w/ NaNoWiMo, but it sounds interesting.
3) I haven't read any of your fiction, but you are a helluva kick ass writer. You would rock it.
I'd love to, but November is the final three weeks of my quarter so I'll be superbusy. I tried to do this last year. I think I got as far as a sentence. Mine was going to be a supernatural story too, which I may still write one day. Later. Doppelgangers and alternate realities clashing and reshaping perception. Might be cool. Might totally suck.

I'm planning to do it but most of my writing attempts end in abandonment. This time I've got a rough outline so I'm planning to slog through it.

I did that a few years ago (managed to complete it too) Can't do it this year cos of thesis... not sure if the academic version of NaNoWriMo is going ahead, will try and kick start it and you can cheer me on in that and I'll cheer you on in yours. :)
I've had a series of supernatural detective stories kicking around in my head for a while, so I might as well see what I can do in a month's time.
I might be WriMoing. Depending on whether or not I finish a draft of my thesis by the end of the month.

I recommend it! I did it a few years ago, and finished. And what I wrote--well, a lot of it is in fact crap, but some of it was actually pretty good!
Signing up and doing it through the site is fun, too. The message boards are great--I recommend the "dares" thread.
If I wasn't in school I would definitely do it with you.
I've done it three years running and failed to complete it every time. Trying again this year. Have you signed up yet? If so what's your username there? We can be writing buddies. :o)
