Irony

I find strange things ironic and grimly amusing.

Here are some examples: One. This woman hopes someone else has the honor to answer her. The irony here is thick. I assume she hopes they even do so in a well thought out manner.

Two. Apparently, women can call other women almost anything they want, and it's different, it's not degrading like when a man does it or is outside of a sexual context. For instance, when I suggested that Demonista calling women stupid was degrading, well, hardy har har, it's just so FUNNY, and surely not degrading like when in a porn flick, a man calls a woman a stupid whore or what have you. Apprently, the word whore or the context is what makes it degrading, calling her stupid is not, at least not if it is Demonista and her friends doing it. Or, wait wait, that's not what is really going on here...it's just that their ideas or takes on something are stupid, no one ever actually called them stupid, or something...I call bullshit. Calling a woman stupid, in any context, and in the manner done here, degrades her, and having a cunt does not excuse the behavior. And, oddly enough, on her blog, no one is consenting to or getting paid for being called stupid. In porn, that's a different story. Funny how a sexual context and Demonista's own stunning logic manages to change everything and she can suddenly dictate when someone is really, actually degraded and when they are not! Also, once again with the universal that anyone and everyone must assume being called a whore-preceeded by another word or not- is degrading!

I suppose being a valiant rebel for the cause gives one a whole special set of rules they get to play by. And that lot talking about other people's lies? Deliciously priceless.

I'm not even being mean here, I'm being stunned and grimly amused...but oddly enough, not disappointed. It's all rather predictable, actually. That is one thing you can always count on with some folk- they will always be predictable! No surprises there, ever. Ahem. Filed under typical.

And for the record, why yes, I would put my brains/logic up against hers any day of the week...and likewise those of my allies against hers, so on, so forth.
