Doc's appointment tomorrow- flu shot, scar check, and the ongoing quest to deal with my insomnia and ever odd forgetting to eat thing.
Worked tonight, who knew urinating on submissive republican men could be so much fun?
Been hanging out with my brother, who is relocating up here, we've had much fun. I've discussed many adventures of blogland with him, and we've had a few good laughs on all that...perhaps tomorrow I shall muse upon a question he asked of me, re: feminism.
I think I am finally used to the shorter hair (I say shorter, because it grows really damn fast and is already notibly longer than it was here) . Verdict is, I want it a bit longer, but I am kinda digging it.
And last but not least: An open invitation to Prof. Bartow:
Prof:
After reading this, I am a bit perplexed. Claims that the porn industry is utterly unregulated are false, as are claims that performer safety and health are not concerns. Using one-sided data from close to 11 years ago and clinging madly to one unfortunate case of a performer contracting HIV is slanted. I am not sure how Jensen- a man who has watched countless hours of pornography and oddly enough, raped no one (exploited is up for debate)- yet is not in the industry himself, rarely speaks to women in the industry, so on, has become the Utlimate Authority on porn. Scat porn? Vomit porn? Niche market. The stuff these folk are trying to pass off as the most popular and best selling porn? It's not. So, all that in mind: Ann, how'd you like to come on a porn shoot with me, see how it really is...even for us Internet Gonzo Outlaws. You would note the use of 2257 and consent forms, perhaps even the use of condoms, and the fact that we're there by choice. Scary, isn't it? Consider it a standing invite.
Okay, sleep...gonna attempt it shortly.

Ren, have you ever tried Melatonin? 1-3 mg is standard, but some of my hard cases go as high as 5 mg. The herb Valerian also works well, and this contains both, and is what works well for Mr Daisy, a medium-hard case like yourself.
(Obscenity is your business, supplements is mine!)
daisy- I have...it does not..agree with me.
This right here? "Yet any women who complain to the police about maltreatment afterward, potentially braving threats of violence for doing so, may be written off as liars, schemers, or folks suffering from mental illness or “buyers remorse.”
This is an unmitigated lie. Threats of violence? Written off by the police while attempting to report a crime?
Okay, professor, cite me one case, one single fucking case, where what you describe above has ever been specifically alleged to have happened, let alone proved to any legal standard to have happened.
For those who are so convinced that the Pimps and The Pornographers have the justice system wired, I'd suggest a quick review of either the Brooke Ashley case or the Evasive Angels case. The plaintiffs did rather better than the defendants in those cases, and no one suggested that their claims were not credible and no one threatened or inflicted any harm on said plaintiffs before or after the proceedings.
These cases are public record. If Anne Bartow wants to be able to teach law students usefully about pornography, she ought to try looking these up so she could at least muster a credible version of why they don't count or matter.
Every day in this "completely unregulated" industry, I work in clammy proximity to the a variety of criminal and civil enforcement agencies that could, at the very least, put me out of business forever based on a single misplaced piece of paper or, at worst, send me to jail for much longer than I might hope to live for making and selling pictures of behavior that's perfectly legal in itself.
If I know more about the law than those who are supposed to be teaching it, you can bet that other areas of that teaching process are also being distorted for political purposes, with results that will play themselves out in our legal system for years after Professor Bartow retires in comfort on a pension federal tax payers will have helped finance.
I dislike having my money used to pay people to tell lies about me.

HAHAHAHAH! Too bad those dumbfuck republican scuzbuckets didn't stick to getting whizzed on, and instead had to go and insinuate themselves into shit like the government and stuff and FUCK UP THE ENTIRE GODDAMN WORLD!

I already told you, I think your hair looks fucking hot short like that.
"I dislike having my money used to pay people to tell lies about me."
NO KIDDING!
LOVE the new blog look!
As for sleep, a teeny, tiny dose of Xanax (.25 mg) helped me a few years back. Docs are hestitant to prescribe it due to the addicting nature but I bet you could get a small script of 10 or so pills to give it a try.
Now that the gauntlet is thrown down, let's see what happens... although I think we know.
I disagree on the zanax. Benzos really are addictive. I tried klonopin for a couple weeks for my insomnia, and even for that short a time, I had a hard time getting off it. What worked for me - a short stint (6 months) of lexapro -which is of the SSRI family and non-addicting, plus using the formula in Jacobs' "Say Goodnight to Insomnia." I can honestly say I tried everything else. I can pretty much sleep anywhere, anytime now -- knock wood.
So, all that in mind: Ann, how'd you like to come on a porn shoot with me, see how it really is
I hope you're not holding your breath waiting for her to agree to come be there. lol
It ought to be a requirement that anyone who purports to be or holds themselves out to be an "expert" on porn's (or sex work's) effects on those who do the work should themselves have been in it or, as you suggest, at least have been there in person to see how it really works.
